Gun lovers shoot their mouths off

Following different conversations about gun safety. Whenever someone tries to talk reasonable, they're met with a slew of angry pit bulls who take it to an extreme, including making death threats! Thus proving we DO need to beef up mental health and it shouldn't be too hard to find the people that really need help! I'm especially dismayed by people who say 'I was a soldier and I don't need to foll...ow YOUR laws', or repeat the propaganda of the fright wing media whores for the NRA and gun makers by saying 'we have plenty of laws.
The ATF has been castrated by the NRA shills in Congress. There are so many rules that prohibit them from doing their job, it's a joke. Then to make thing worse, the fright wingers blather on, falsely, about how 'we're already tracked and regulated'. There is evidence that a handful of gun dealers are skirting the law to supply weapons that end up used in crimes. But the ATF is NOT ALLOWED to investigate a gun dealer more than once a year! They are not allowed to ask him for his records of sales, or even ask him to keep one. It's like the NRA has pulled their pants down, tied a knot in their scrotum, forced them to ask 'pretty please, be nice..." and then say 'we don't need laws, we got it covered'. They don't even have a full time director! Now imagine if we treated our military that way...oh wait, we DID, by sending them into war built on a pile of manure, in vehicles that weren't armored. They had to get their relatives to supply armor! They got taken advantage of by Haliburton, who thought it was OK to charge several hundred percent for everything from tents to toilet paper.
At the same time, just being a soldier does NOT make someone a genius. There is a wide variety of personalities in the military, from geniuses to knuckle draggers, just like in real life. I live in a small town, where I saw young people enlist not because they were 'noble' but because they were BORED, with no job prospects! And were told by eager recruiters that they would make money and get all sorts of benefits. I even overheard a couple young guys talking about it in a sandwich shop. One was saying he just enlisted and was going to 'go kill some towel heads". I find it amazing that there are people who will say "I'm in the military...I'm trained to trust my superiors and not question every request for action. Then come home and say 'I don't trust my leaders...fuck you." Makes it harder on the guys who come home and want to work, raise their families and be treated with respect.
