             I watched CSPAN a lot during the health care 'debate'. I'd see Boehner and friends in mark up meetings,trying to knock the effort off track. I also remember when Pelosi was speaker, and they were working on an important energy bill. Boehner called for the 'reading of the bill", which forces the secretary to read the whole bill out loud, with all arcane references. It took over 8 HOURS. When it came time for the vote, he and his colleagues weren't there. He went on Fox and CNN to say Pelosi was going to keep them in session and force them to miss Christmas break, like a child whining about mommy making him do his homework. All the right wing punkits yammered about mean, evil, bitchy Nancy. Then when she said she WASN'T going to make people stay..."Go home, have a Merry Christmas, and see you next year", he immediately held a press conference in front of about 50 mics, with Mr Turtlehead next to him, whining that ...

The Goofie Opposition Party has their panties all up in a bunch because Obama made appointments that were needed, calling their bluff. They claim they are in session all the time, even when they're not.  They're not even pretending! They send someone in, they gavel 'in session', then gavel out and he goes off to get a reacharound. they stretch all the rules to the level of criminality and sprinkle that with a healthy dose of arrogance, based on the belief that the populace is too stupid to understand the arcane machinations of the House.

But when they get caught, they go to prison.  

The GOPTEA's are waterboarding the US economy in hopes we will give in and give them the keys to the car. They don't care about casualties,as they can blame that on Obama. Once they get back in power, their corporate ov ... erlords can let some money out to let people think the 'right' people are in power. They will continue to dismantle government, kill regulations, kill pensions,social security, and worker protection laws. Jobs available will be thousands of low wage crap jobs that that they will tell us to shut the fuck up and enjoy, regardless of whether or not it's enough to live on.

Do you believe in ghosts? Apparently the GOP and the NRA do. They both live off scaring the crap out of people in order to get us to buy stuff or buy their policies. The Gun companies must be running a little slow these days as the NRA is trying to scare people into spending their limited funds on guns and ammo. WHY? Because there is a really scary ghost out there(didn't know you could shoot ghosts, but that's another matter). The head of the NRA is saying that the fact that the Obama administration has done nothing to limit gun ownership (and has, in fact, expanded rights for gun owners) is really an insidious plot. He says that it's a ploy to make the gun owners relax and fall asleep and then elect him for a second term. THEN he will sweep in and take their guns. No, really! I think Mr LaPierre is either filling his pockets with money from Smith and Wesson to cause a run on gun shops, or his brain is exhibiting symptoms of lead poisoning from fondling bullets. All the commentary on the news about budget 'negotiations' is bunk. Who has the courage to point out that the whole mess is from years of GOP 'business first' policies that funneled money to the rich at the expense of the rest of us?  Money was not lost, it went into a small number of pockets and accounts, making some people even richer.  Now the Republicans want more of the same, and will NOT negotiate anything other than their corporatist policies. Remember Ross Perot's 'giant sucking sound' phrase? Well, the giant sucking sound was Wall street, bank CEO's and rich speculators sucking money out of the majority of Americans. We can all get caught up in shaking our heads at the increase in what appears to be mental illness pervading politics and the common discourse. We can focus on individuals, organizations, so-called 'think tanks', secretive funding groups, and organizations with eagles, freedom and flags in their name or logos. If we focus on one, another pops up, like super cockroaches. What they are really doing is spreading fear.
